In March, banks and building societies actually granted new mortgage loans worth CZK 27.2 billion. After seasonal adjustment, the March figures for new mortgages rose (to around CZK 24.4 billion compared with CZK 22.9 billion in the previous three months) and thus reached a level around 48% higher than in the first half of last year.
